Utilizing the original Cytoplasmic™ coverstock in a slightly different formulation has created the perfect complement to this series. DARK STAR™

Shield Line

Value and Performance have always been synonymous with the Roto Grip® brand, and the all new Dark Star™ stands to continue that tradition.

Our first goal was to develop a stronger Shield™ Line ball to fit into the Roto Grip® line. The Team felt that there was too big of a gap between the Nomads and the Planet series balls. The intent was to create more mid-lane read with stronger backend motion, so we developed the Photon™ core with a lower RG value and a higher differential.

To enhance this core motion we also added Ultimate Vision™ pearl coverstock to this ball. This performance proven coverstock was found on the EPIC™ and Illusion™ series of balls. It boasts a higher coefficient of friction and surface texture for added traction in the oil and superior backend performance.

This combination of core and coverstock was the ideal fit into the line. Our tests showed that it filled the gap between the Nomads and the Planet series balls perfectly.

DOMAIN™

The dominance of the Royal line continues with the release of the Domain™. The Domain™ features the next generation in coverstock technology with the introduction of the Cyto-Xtreme™ pearl reactive. Enhanced surface topography is the key factor in ball motion in the oil along with the combination of maximum surface friction to lane surface on the backend. This second generation coverstock features a new formulation of polyol chains designed to enhance the surface structure of the coverstock. This translates into greater traction in the oil along with maximum reaction on the backend. The CAM ™ core delivers the finishing touch to the Domain™. The alternating ellipses strategically placed along the x and y axes along with the low RG value and high differential prove to be the most continuous motion ever seen out of an asymmetrical part. DYNASTY™

The Royal™ line of equipment from Roto Grip sets the standard higher than any other line in bowling. The Empire™ was the first of its kind in the industry with the CAM™ core. Its unique shape and the alternating ellipses allowed for the most continuous motion ever seen out of an asymmetrical bowling ball. Along with the new shape we also added the Cyto-X™ coverstock, the highest texture coverstock in the industry. Our goal with the Dynasty™ was to design a ball that would complement the Royal™ line. To accomplish that we felt we needed this ball to have a slight bit more traction in the mid-lane, but with no loss of entry angle down the lane. The Cyto-X™ hybrid coverstock was the perfect fit. Our test results showed a 5% increase in friction values through the hook zone, and no loss of entry angle down the lane. This is another powerful descendant from a truly royal ancestor...

EMPIRE™

International Balls

The CAM™ (Controlled Axis Migration) core was developed using three alternating ellipses. Each ellipse is positioned strategically along the x-axis and then rotating the middle ellipse perpendicular to the y-axis. This gives us constant imbalance or differential as the ball is travelling down the lane and migrating towards its preferred spin axis. In simple terms, this means more consistent hook from start to finish.

The final element to the equation was coverstock. The Cyto-X™ pearl reactive coverstock is the first of its kind. We are using an enhanced blend of reactive material with interference mica to develop a high surface topography or texture (Ra). This translates into a pearlized ball having the same surface texture as a solid in the oil, but with the performance characteristics of a pearl reactive down the lane. The bottom line is this is a revolution!

We felt that we needed more mid-lane read, but and added motion down lane. Through extensive testing of various coverstock formulations, we came up with this version of Cytoplasmic XL™ hybrid. The combination of Solid and Pearl reactive proved to be the perfect answer.

Crown Line

The success of the Cell™ series continues to grow, and so does the technology involved the newest edition. The signature touch to the line has been its continuous motion and versatility. This stems from the Nucleus™ core and its unique shape. This asymmetrical part maintains its dynamic integrity and differential value after drilling better than any other ball on the market.

Our intent was to utilize this same premise in the newly designed Nucleus II™ core. We have strategically removed mass along the axes of the core to increase the intermediate differential or mass bias strength. This translates into a quicker revving part along with increased motion potential down the lane.

The final touch is the utilization of the Cytoplasmic™ XL solid reactive coverstock. This second generation coverstock has an extreme amount of surface topography (Ra value). This means more friction from foul line through the pin deck.

At Roto Grip® we pride ourselves in providing a complete line of bowling balls in both value and performance.

The RIOT™ is just what the kingdom ordered. The utilization of the Ultimate Vision™ solid reactive coverstock is the key to this addition. The increased surface topography and greater coefficient of friction battles those medium to heavier volume patterns with fierce intensity.

The Nomad™ series continues to be a great success. The introduction of the Super Nomad™ increases the depth of the Sword line. Its more aggressive pearlized coverstock adds another dimension to the line by delivering more aggressive motion down lane.

Our Intent was to complement that product line with the introduction of the Super Nomad™. We adjusted the ratio of the Ultra-Vision™ pearlized reactive coverstock to create an increased surface topography and enhanced traction. The C.A.T.S. testing showed a 7% increase in entry angle to the pocket over the original Nomad Pearl.

The finishing touch is the Rotary™ core. This extremely successful mid-rg and high differential core has proven to be one of the strongest and most versatile cores ever developed. The combination of strength and ease of drilling allows it work for a variety of players on a variety of conditions.
